We are selling our beloved truck camper - a crew cab 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 with 153xxx miles and a 2015 Four Wheel Campers Hawk Shell camper with a side dinette.
The camper is bolted down to a custom made 8.5 ft Alumbody flatbed and is surrounded by custom aluminum tool boxes made by RC Industries.
I purchased this rust free truck in 2021 in southern California with 139xxx miles. It has the bulletproof 6.0L Vortec V8 (pre cylinder deactivation) with the 4L80E 4 speed automatic transmission. The engine purrs and has zero leaks and the transmission shifts excellently.
After building it into what you see here, we used it to go on many adventures with my wife, 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. Because we travel with our little ones, I maintained this truck rigorously (over $6,200 spent on repairs) and made many upgrades to both the truck and camper for reliability, comfort and convenience.
We’re sad to see it go but we just don’t use this rig very much these days and I can’t let it sit all summer long without being enjoyed.
Asking $35,000 and selling as a unit. I’m not interested in selling separately. Located in Meridian, Idaho

The aluminum flatbed was custom made and professionally installed by Alumbody in Orange, CA. We decided on an 8.5 ft flatbed so the factory bumper didn’t stick out too far back. This also allowed for a wider tunnel storage box between the cab and camper.
The boxes were custom made to my measurements by RC Industries in Indiana and shipped to Nevada. The camper and boxes were professionally installed onto the flatbed by KP and his crew at Zero Declination in Reno, NV.
Camper upgrades:
- ARB awning install
- Upgraded most 12v charging ports to Blue Sea Systems
- 250W solar panel Install by KP and crew at Zero Declination
- 4 awg wire upgrade by KP and crew
- Victron solar controller, Victron dc/dc charger and Victron display installed by KP and crew
- 100ah Battleborn Lithium battery upgrade by KP and crew
- Upgraded thermostat
- Custom 12v outlet going to the rear seats of the truck from the house battery to charge a small cooler or anything else you may desire
- Custom buildout to add storage to interior and fit toddler crib mattress (and if you don’t have kids, you get to enjoy a wider sitting area).
I trusted KP and his team to install the camper onto the Chevy Truck after visiting them a few times to do the work outlined above. They are very knowledgeable and very professional. I have receipts for all of their work (and all other work done that’s listed on this ad).
Known issues:
- Slight rub on full lock but nothing that has made me want to cut the fenders for clearance
- The ABS computer was replaced twice and the brakes work great. But from time to time there is still a bit of a whine from the ABS, though the light has not come back on (this is a common problem on these trucks).
- At times the air recirculation feature allows some air to enter the cab from the outside. Other than that, the AC blows cold and the heater blows hot.
My family has made many memories in this truck and camper. It has taken us to many beautiful places and we are grateful that it has been part of our family. And we hope it goes to another adventurous family looking to get out there reliably, safely and in comfort.
Please ask if you have any questions. Thank you.
